Wilson Drivers earn Top Honors at Truck Driving Championships

Three of Wilson Trucking Corporation's finest
drivers participated in the 2004 ATA National
Truck Driving Championships in Salt Lake
City, Utah. They were Ryland Hogan, Frelan
McNeal and Harold Snyder. Wilson Trucking
congratulates these gentlemen and commends
their committment to driving safety and excellence.
Ryland B. Hogan was awarded the 2004 Professional
Excellence Award at the 2004 ATA National
Truck Driving Championships held in Salt
Lake City, Utah..
"This award is presented to the driver
who best exemplifies all attributes that
make up the professional truck driver. Drivers
are judged on their driving record, skill,
attitude and personality." *
Ryland is a long time competitor and two-time
ATA National Championship winner, having
won in 1987 in the three-axle class and again
in 1993 in the twins class. In addition,
Ryland has placed first in the five-axle
class at the U.S. Professional Truck Drivers
Championships in 2001, 2002 and again in
2004.
Ryland has won a Virginia Championship a
record setting fourteen times, and in seven
of those fourteen times, he was named Grand
Champion, another record. In his competitive
career, he has placed first, second, or third
in 17 out of 18 state competitions.
Championship winning driving runs in his
family as his son, Marty, was the national
champion in the twins class at the 2004 ATA
Championships.
Ryland has been driving for Wilson Trucking
since 1996. He is based with the Roanoke,
Virginia terminal.

Harold G. Snyder won the Vehicle Condition
Class at the 2004 ATA National Truck Driving
Championships.
"This award was developed by American
Trucking Associations to recognize the National
contestant who demonstrates championship
performance in maintaining a safe and efficient
vehicle. The Vehicle Condition Award is presented
to the driver who is judged to have taken
the greatest care for the operating condition
of his/her equipment as demonstrated by his/her
pre-trip inspection methods." *
Harold has been with Wilson Trucking since
1982 and works out of the Greensboro, North
Carolina terminal.

Frelan McNeal was selected as the Grand Champion
of the 2004 Tennessee State ATA Truck Driving
Championships and participated in the National
Truck Driving Championship..
Frelan has been with Wilson Trucking since
1992 and is based at the Knoxville, Tennessee
terminal.
